Technical Systems Specialist


ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

BESTAgency is looking for a talented Systems Specialist who has the necessary experience to help expand existing infrastructure and troubleshoot problems as they arise. The ideal candidate for this position can self-prioritize critical tasks and coordinate the maintenance, daily operation, and expansion of our systems to help ensure that all productions and events are executed flawlessly. Quality traits include being a self-starter, having an in-depth knowledge of systems infrastructure, and being able to work and communicate well with other technicians, as well as clients.

  • Monitor existing audio/video distribution systems daily to ensure system integrity
  • Oversee the development, acquisition, and installation of new hardware and software as CAPEX money permits
  • Identify loopholes in the technical systems and/or processes, and develop a plan to eliminate those issues
  • Provide technical support as needed for BESTAgency Production team, as well as Media team
  • Ensure consistent availability of technical resources, specifically as it relates to live shows and events
  • Light Information Technology (IT) work as needed, as it relates to the technical system(s) infrastructure
  • Develop and maintain a close working relationship with equipment vendors and service technicians
  • Troubleshoot issues as they arise, and generate detailed reports pertaining to those challenges in a timely manner

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years of experience in system engineering and basic IT support
  • Basic understanding of Audio/Visual system requirements
  • Experience preferred with MediaMatrix, London BSS, Crestron, Christie Spyder Processors, ClearCom, Sedna, and Daktronics Display Studio Media Servers/Venus Scheduling
  • Professional experience/certification on above-listed systems, otherwise applicant must be willing to travel to obtain necessary certifications/training
  • Exceptional knowledge and networking skills required, including a great understanding of signal flow, superb troubleshooting skills, and the ability to keep composure in stressful situations
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to make staff/clients feel at ease, by speaking in a non-technical way that they understand
  • Must possess the ability to lift 50 lbs., and the physical stamina to traverse the property for a long period of time

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Associates degree in Theater with an emphasis on AV

  • This position is Full-time- Salary (Exempt)
