Entertainment/Theater Stage Technician


The Entertainment/Stage Technician position (Full-time) will be responsible for working alongside the tech team in executing elements for shows and events in a unique, theatre-style venue. Works under the direction of the Tech Manager and Director of Production and Events to coordinate projects, maintain overall product quality and follow all appropriate rules, regulations, and guidelines. Responsibilities and requirements include:
• Must have a clear knowledge and understanding of various stage tech elements, i.e. automation, sound, lighting and/or rigging, etc.
• Oversees and coordinates the proper maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting of various stage/theater equipment
• Assists in technical operation for live shows and events
• Coordinates purchases of new or replacement equipment with the Tech Manager and Director of Production and Events
• Coordinates system updates and equipment repairs in house or with product manufacturers
• Assist with the creation of safe, respectful, and positive working environment at all times
• Communicates with vendors in matters of maintenance and safety
• Plays important role in development of cost-saving measures and technical improvements
• Participates in change-outs of advertising displays (sky murals, clings, duratrans, bulkheads, etc)
• Must have the ability to endure long periods of sitting and standing
• Ability to work high above ground
• Safely operates technical equipment to include scissor lift and straight boom lift; may be required to operate audio and lighting procedures in the absence of production booth personnel
• Experience in set design and construction a plus
• Other duties as assigned by BESTAgency Corporate personnel and client


Candidates should possess the following:

• Previous theater/stage tech experience: minimum of 2 years in the entertainment industry
• Excellent self-motivation skills

• Ability to multi-task
• Must have strong interpersonal skills
• Flexible schedule, minimum 30 hours; hours may be extended during peak seasons
• Ability to maintain good working relationships with co-workers, management, employees, clients, vendors and talent
• Ability to maintain composure in a sometimes high stressed, fast paced environment.
• Proficient knowledge in automation a plus.
• Knowledge of computer programs including MS Excel, Word, Google Apps, and the Internet.

Bachelor’s Degree in Theater and Production


• Full-time/Hourly (Non-exempt)
