Entertainment Technician Manager


Role and Responsibilities

The Technician Manager position will be responsible for all duties originating from the stage and public areas during live shows and events.  They are responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, storage, and accurate logs of all property equipment as well as the successful installation of all advertising throughout the center.  This position reports directly to the Director of Productions and Events. Job requirements include the following:

  • Attends all shows in FOH position ensuring the safety of all onlookers, crew, and models
  • Safely operates technical equipment to include scissor lift, straight boom lift, and in the absence of production booth personnel, audio, lighting and automation procedures
  • Develops thorough knowledge of all lighting equipment specific to venue to include fog systems, snow machines, confetti, etc
  • Coordinating change-outs of advertising displays (sky murals, clings, duratrans, bulkheads, etc.)
  • Must have ability to endure long periods of sitting and standing
  • Ability to work high above ground
  • Has clear understanding of all technical elements including Automation, Audio, Lighting, Video Playout, Effects and Stage Management
  • Assists with creation of a safe, respectful, and positive working environment
  • Load in/load out; Event set-up and tear down
  • Responsible for scheduling of all staff technicians and on-call technicians for daily program operations and events.

               – Schedule due to client 1 week prior

  • Other duties as assigned by BESTAgency and client

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Candidates should possess the following:

  • Previous experience:  prefer at least 2 years in the entertainment industry as a technician
  • Certification and safe operation of technical equipment to include scissor and boom lifts a plus
  • Excellent self-motivation skills

  • Ability to multi-task
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills
  • Flexible schedule.
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with co-workers, management, employees, clients, vendors and talent

  • Knowledge of computer programs including MS Excel, Word, Outlook, iTunes, Google Apps, and the Internet.

Preferred Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Theater, Stage and Production, or Sound and Lighting a plus
